EBS 12.2 carries Premier Support through at least 2037, but “at least” is not a permanent guarantee, and customers still on 12.1 or earlier are already on Sustaining Support today. A responsible ERP migration takes years, not weeks. iAppSys helps you evaluate three practical paths and execute with confidence, powered by our SafeSwitch migration program.
12.2 Premier Support at least
12.1 Premier Support ended
Support ended 19c Database to re-certify
If you're on 12.1 or earlier you're already running on Sustaining Support. If you're on 12.2, the real clock is your hardware, database, and AI-readiness — not a single cliff date.

What Is Happening
Under its Continuous Innovation model, Oracle has extended Premier Support for EBS 12.2 through at least 2037, rolling the horizon forward roughly one year at a time. On paper that’s a long runway. In practice, the EBS customer base splits cleanly into two populations and the planning posture for each is very different.
Customers on 12.1 or earlier are already past Premier Support and operating on Sustaining Support: no new security or Critical Patch Updates, no new tax or regulatory content, no new third-party certifications. For regulated, integration-heavy enterprises, that distinction drives real decisions about budget, compliance posture, and architecture starting today.
Once Critical Patch Updates stop, every unpatched vulnerability becomes a standing risk.
SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS auditors take a dim view of unsupported backbone ERP.
As the migration wave accelerates, experienced EBS and Fusion talent becomes harder to source each quarter.
DEC 2021
EBS 12.1 left Premier Support; after a time-boxed Market-Driven Support Program, 12.1 estates now sit on Sustaining Support.
ONGOING
Cumulative 12.2.x updates and tech-stack refreshes (latest 12.2.14) delivered without a major upgrade — no “12.3.”
AT LEAST 2037
Premier Support for 12.2 is currently committed through at least 2037 rolled forward yearly, not permanently locked in.
YOUR CLOCK
Aging on-prem hardware, database re-certification, and the pull toward AI on a modern data layer set the real timeline.

Your Three Paths Forward
Not every EBS customer should take the same road. iAppSys leads with a discovery-first, advisory approach then helps you plan and execute the path that genuinely fits your modules, CEMLI customizations, integrations, and timeline.
Best for organizations ready to modernize their ERP platform and align with Oracle’s cloud direction.
iAppSys helps you assess, plan, and execute the transition from E-Business Suite to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, a fully managed SaaS suite spanning Financials, Procurement, Project Management, EPM, Risk Management, and prebuilt ERP Analytics.
Align with Oracle's modern, AI-ready cloud applications
Re-examine outdated workflows & manual processes
Quarterly innovation without major upgrade projects
Native AI, generative AI & connected EPM planning
Retire long-term reliance on legacy infrastructure
Best for organizations that want to keep E-Business Suite but leave aging on-premises infrastructure behind.
iAppSys SafeSwitch lifts and shifts EBS to a hosted, SaaS-like managed environment on any cloud, OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, preserving every CEMLI customization, integration, and configuration, typically at a meaningfully lower TCO than on-prem.
Move off aging hardware & data-center dependency
Stronger backup, DR, monitoring & security
Keep existing EBS functionality & user workflows
24/7 SaaS-like managed services from iAppSys
A managed bridge with SuperWave AI on top
Best for organizations not ready to move clouds yet — but needing to get back onto fully supported ground.
iAppSys helps you upgrade in place to EBS 12.2.x on Oracle Database 19c, bringing 12.1 or older estates back under Premier Support and onto a supported, patchable technology stack.
Return to Premier Support & Critical Patch Updates
Upgrade to 12.2.14 + Database 19c on current hardware
Re-certify customizations & integrations
Lowest immediate change for business users
Buy time to plan the right long-term move
Unsure which path fits? Our roadmap assessment compares all three against your environment, cost profile, and timeline with no obligation.
Compare Your Options
Each path has real strengths. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP is the long-horizon modernization platform with native AI. SafeSwitch is the fastest, lowest-risk move to a managed cloud while keeping the EBS you know — and iAppSys can build custom AI on top with SuperWave AI. An in-place upgrade preserves the status quo and restores Premier Support, but keeps you on on-premises infrastructure.
| Consideration | Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP | Hosted, SaaS-like EBS | Upgrade & Stay On-Prem (12.2) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keeps your existing EBS & CEMLI customizations | Re-implementation on a new model | Yes, preserved as-is | Yes, re-certified on 12.2 |
| Leaves aging on-prem hardware behind | Yes, fully Oracle-managed SaaS | Yes, any cloud, iAppSys-managed | No, stays on-premises |
| Native AI, generative AI & modern UX | Yes, built in & expanding | Via SuperWave AI on your cloud data | Not in the EBS platform |
| Custom AI built for your business | Native Oracle AI only | Yes, iAppSys SuperWave AI | Not available |
| Initial capital outlay & disruption | Highest, full re-implementation | Low, SafeSwitch economics | Moderate, upgrade project |
| Oracle support posture | Continuous SaaS updates | Supported 12.2 on modern cloud | Premier Support through at least 2037 |

Roadmap Assessment
Before recommending anything, iAppSys runs SCOPE, a structured discovery of your E-Business Suite estate. It’s how we turn your support lifecycle into a clear, costed plan instead of a guessing game.

Common Questions
Not abruptly. Oracle has committed Premier Support for EBS 12.2 through at least 2037 under Continuous Innovation, rolling the date forward roughly a year at a time. The nuance is the phrase “at least”, it’s a recurring commitment, not a permanent contractual lock. And it only applies to 12.2; 12.1 and earlier are already past Premier Support.
Premier Support for EBS 12.1 ended in December 2021, and the time-boxed Market-Driven Support Program that followed has since ended. Those estates now run on Sustaining Support: existing patches and the knowledge base remain available, but Oracle issues no new security or Critical Patch Updates, no new tax or regulatory content, and no new third-party certifications.
Because a large ERP migration is a multi-year effort once you include budgeting, vendor selection, data work, and adoption. An organization that begins planning now and executes over the next few years is in a defensible position. One that waits until the window narrows has little margin for the scope changes and re-scoping that are normal in ERP programs and faces tighter access to experienced resources.
Not directly. Fusion Cloud ERP is built on a different architecture and data model, so moving to it is a re-implementation rather than a simple upgrade. That’s a strong fit for organizations ready to modernize, and exactly why some customers first migrate EBS to managed cloud infrastructure with SafeSwitch as a bridge. iAppSys helps you weigh both.
SafeSwitch is the iAppSys program for migrating EBS to a hosted, SaaS-like managed environment on any major cloud, OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, while preserving your customizations and integrations. It pairs the migration with 24/7 managed services and economics designed to ease the transition, including new cloud infrastructure costs covered during migration and a go-live rebate window.*
With SafeSwitch and with an in-place 12.2 upgrade, yes, your CEMLI customizations, extensions, and integrations are preserved or re-certified. A move to Fusion Cloud ERP is different: standard SaaS functionality replaces many customizations, so part of the SCOPE assessment is mapping which of yours are still needed and which become standard.
Yes. Once EBS is on a modern cloud data layer via SafeSwitch, iAppSys SuperWave AI can add natural-language querying, autonomous process automation, and custom AI apps on top of your data, all within your enterprise control boundaries without first re-platforming to Fusion.
Yes, that’s the point of a discovery-first approach. The SCOPE assessment gives you a clear read on your environment, a side-by-side comparison of all three paths, indicative effort, and a sequenced roadmap you can take into budget conversations, whether or not you choose iAppSys.
